On April 3, Secretary of Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee Ms. Huang Shaoping, Mayor Mr. Zheng Xincong, and Head of Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Mr. Yang Hui held a meeting with Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (hereinafter referred to as "Metropolitan Bank Group") Board Chairman Dr. George Ty and President of Metropolitan Bank (China) Ltd Ms. Lin Guixian to talk about homesickness, cooperation, and development.

Ms. Huang Shaoping and Mr. Zheng Xincong welcomed Dr. George Ty Delegation. Ms. Huang Shaoping said Metropolitan Bank (China) Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Metrobank (China)") opened the first branch in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, and it was the first foreign-funded bank in Quanzhou, which was the result of efforts of the both parties Metrobank (China) and Quanzhou, fully showing Dr. George Ty's love for the home town as a leader of patriotic overseas Chinese with ancestry place in Quanzhou. Ever since a long time ago, overseas Chinese with ancestry place in Quanzhou has been making significant contribution to economic and social development of overseas societies, and also been attached to the construction of the home town, actively driving forward development of industry, philanthropy, and education.Quanzhou was officially approved to be a Comprehensive Reform Pilot Zone for Finance to Serve Real Economy not long ago, having a new opportunity for development. We hope Metrobank (China) Quanzhou Branch who takes root in China could exert its own advantages to create a good platform for overseas Chinese from Quanzhou to come back and invest into industry of Quanzhou and to attract more overseas Chinese businessmen and funds to jointly drive financial reform of Quanzhou and all aspects of work in finance serving real economy, making contribution to economic development of Quanzhou. Party committees and governments of the hometown will also create a better investment environment to fully support growth of overseas Chinese's business in Quanzhou, trying to realize an "everyone wins" situation for Quanzhou, Metrobank (China), and overseas Chinese businessmen.

Dr. George Ty thanked Quanzhou for its warm reception. Dr. George Ty said the smooth inauguration of the first branch of Metrobank (China) in Quanzhou was inseparable from great support of party committee and government of the home town. Next, Metrobank (China) Quanzhou Branch will make efforts to exert financial profession advantages, to expand investment into the hometown Quanzhou, to establish more branches, and to develop financial trust and other business scope gradually, providing fellow countrymen of Quanzhou and overseas folks with more convenient financial services and products and making contribution to establishment of "Financial Reform Pilot Zone" of Quanzhou. As a person from Quanzhou, he also plans to establish a charitable foundation to make greater contribution to development of charity in the home town besides investing and stating undertaking in Quanzhou.
