Metrobank (China) together with Shanghai soong ching ling foundation launched the project of "protecting children's growth and fostering rural education" in yongding district, longyan city, Fujian province, on November 13, 2019.

Yongding district, longyan city, part of the southwest of Fujian province, is mountainous, with more than 120 completed primary schools in the whole area. Moreover, campus hardware conditions and teachers in some rural completed primary schools are relatively weak, so more external support is needed. In addition, some families in the region are poor due to illness, and some students from poor families are at risk of not being able to continue their studies.

On November 13, Mr. David Lin, President of Metrobank (China) and Mrs. Alice Shi head of human resources of Metrobank (China), Mr Oliver Yang, director of Shanghai soong ching ling foundation visit the 2 schools, the children were excited, express a sincere welcome with bright red scarf.

During this project, Metrobank (China) through donate books, computers, tables and chairs and other facilities in the two schools respectively established the "growth" of the classroom and books to read and electronic informative function should be established to enrich the children's extracurricular reading, to help the children use the Internet to learn better, while improve the remote village primary school hardware facilities, and build a better campus environment for children and reading atmosphere. While caring about children's knowledge and education, the bank also donated a large number of sports equipment to enrich children's sports skills, which can not only enhance their physique but also their after-school life. In order to better promote the sustainable development of education, the bank set up the "Metrobank - happy growth" scholarship program in combination with donated materials to commend and encourage students to carry out reading and physical exercise activities, so as to promote the reading and sports atmosphere on campus.

The trip is just the beginning. In the coming future, Metrobank (China) will continue to support rural education, support the education of children in difficulties and other projects, and mobilize all employees devote themselves to public welfare as volunteers.
